Summer Site Tours

Since launching the community engagement process in May 2019 to reimagine the future of the 157-acre former golf course property, The Trust for Public Land has met with local stakeholders for hearth-side chats and focused group meetings. On August 27 and September 21, 2019, these stakeholder groups were invited for site tours led by WRT, LLC, the community engagement consultants on the project. The purpose of the tours was for community leaders from across the spectrum of interests to meet each other, learn more about the property, hear from subject-matter experts and provide input.

They were joined by Anna Halligan, North Coast Coho Project Coordinator with Trout Unlimited, The Trust for Public Land’s conservation partner, and Jorgen Blomberg, senior restoration designer with ESA, who together shed light on opportunities for restoring San Geronimo and Larsen Creeks. Craig Zellers, The Trust for Public Land’s property manager, and Marin County Fire Department Captain Jordan Reeser were also in attendance to discuss how the property is being maintained for fire safety.

The attendees represented a variety of interests including immediate neighbors, fire safety and emergency preparedness, safe routes to school, recreation, education, conservation, regenerative agriculture and the community garden, environmental stewardship, indigenous communities, wastewater recycling, affordable housing and community organizations.
